Contributing To Our CommunityTricor Ten Section Hub will increase the availability of reliable, safe, clean-burning natural gas at stabilized prices to meet the Western region’s growing thirst for energy. The construction and operation of this much needed natural gas storage facility will also serve to fuel our community’s economy. Building JobsAn anticipated 75% of the construction workforce used to construct Tricor Ten Section Hub will come from local communities. During construction, we expect to create over 208 new jobs for the people of Kern County. Fueling The Local EconomyTricor expects to spend well in excess of $100 million on construction materials, much of which will be purchased locally. Once in service, Tricor Energy estimates to pay approximately $1 million in annual wages to local workers, who will in turn invest those earnings back into local businesses, goods and services. Tricor also estimates that the project will generate approximately $1.8 million in state tax revenue. Stabilizing Energy PricesAs demand for natural gas continues to rise, so will the price tag. By providing a predictable, high-deliverability supply of natural gas that is impervious to peak loads, Tricor Ten Section Hub will help ameliorate these escalating prices. This puts more money back into the pockets of consumers; including you. Community CollaborationsAs long-time members of this community, we value its natural resources as well as its agricultural heritage. In addition to conducting intensive environmental impact reports, we are collaborating closely with landowners and our neighbors to preserve our community’s natural assets. Respecting Landowners And The LandAll gas storage facilities, including the wells and compressor station, will be constructed entirely within the Tricor Ten Section Hub site located on 2,500 acres of private land owned by Tricor Energy. All land areas used for pipeline facilities will be restored and re-vegetated to their former use once construction has been completed. To further minimize impact, we have selected a header pipeline route which will bypass wetlands, dairies, waterbodies and structures. Tricor also is committed to partnering with local farmers and agricultural agencies to preserve continued agricultural use of the land where the header pipeline will be installed. This includes excavating the appropriate depth for trenches, protecting soil quality, maintaining water flow in crop irrigation systems, maintaining access to fields, structures and storage areas during construction, building fences to contain livestock when necessary and making improvements to fences, drain tiles and other facilities disturbed during construction. |
