Environment & Safety

Low Impact, High Safety Standards

As a neighbor and member of this community, Tricor Energy remains a conscientious steward to the environment. We are taking every measure to ensure that we construct and operate this vital project with minimal impact on the environment and people who live and work here.

To this end, we will consult and collaborate with the appropriate federal and state agencies, third-party scientists and experts, as well as our neighbors. We have conducted extensive investigations into our potential impact on the environment and have developed plans to minimize any impact.

Throughout the planning, construction and operation of the facility, we will complete regular inspections to ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards. And as part of our commitment to keeping our community informed, we maintain full disclosure with the public.

Community Safety Comes First

Located on 2,500 acres of private land owned by Tricor Energy, the storage facility is about 8,000 feet beneath the ground, far from residential communities and a safe distance from schools and businesses. What’s more, our engineers are highly trained and experienced in safety standards.

Built To The Highest Standards

All Tricor Ten Section Hub facilities are being constructed using the latest technologies to meet and exceed federal and state requirements and safety standards. Construction will be regularly monitored by an Environmental Inspector who will document our compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Safe Operation

Tricor Ten Section Hub will be monitored 24 hours per day to ensure continual safe operating conditions. We’ll also have trained personnel performing routine checks of the facilities, equipment and instrumentation and will complete regular maintenance to ensure equipment is operating properly. Safety equipment will be installed and routinely tested for proper operation. Tricor personnel will be immediately alerted and will respond to any potential safety issues or alarms.

Ongoing Safety Inspections

In addition to conducting regular inspections of the storage facilities, Tricor will also dispatch personnel to routinely inspect the pipelines, both on foot and from the air, to ensure proper upkeep and operation.

Respecting Land And Water

Tricor Ten Section Hub is being designed and constructed in a way that minimizes the impact on the surrounding environment and land, including wetlands, canals, reservoirs and other bodies of water. All facilities are being constructed according to state and federal standards for controlling erosion and promoting re-vegetation.

Protecting Flora And Fauna

We have been working closely with biologists to identify and avoid natural habitats for local and protected species and to map sensitive native vegetation along the pipeline route. Findings conclude that Tricor Ten Section Hub will have minimal impact on native wildlife species and vegetation. We’ll take additional measures to protect natural habitats of endangered and threatened species during construction and to raise environmental awareness among our personnel and contractors.

To further minimize the impact, the majority of the header pipeline will be located within agricultural lands and diverted away from wildlife habitats, breeding and nesting grounds.
